So, i might sound stupid or whatever, but until recently ive only considered taking the sat. My question is, how does score reporting for the act work?

You get four free reports and every report after that costs extra ($8.50 per each college report)

You can also pick and choose which ACT score you want sent out from single sittings (no superscore.)

so basically, when you take it you don't report anything? and then after you take it if you like the score you can send it to places later on?

^ Yes, and you get four free reports when you first sign up that are automatically sent after you take the test (just like the SAT in that respect.)

You automatically get a student score report in the mail after you test. Up to four college reports are free IF you put them on your registration, but that means you have to commit to sending your scores before you know what they are. Likewise, your high school will get a report for free if you authorize it when you register.

All reports you request after your scores are first released cost money, even if you didn't use your free reports with your registration.
