I have taken the ACT w Writing 3 times. My highest composite score is a 29. What are my chances of getting into the UCs, UTAustin, Purdue or U of Illinois?

GPA? ECs? Essays/LoRs? ACT superscore? Need more information to chance you properly.

29 is where you need to be for basically all the UCs but there is no way of saying what your chances are for anything without more info.

GPA is 3.72 weighted. Superscore: English-31, Math-30, Reading-31, Science-29 and Writing-10

I don’t think that the UCs super-score; I think they take your strongest single “seating.” That was my understanding last year, at least. Are any of those universities in-state for you? Your stats are not competitive at the upper tier of UCs, probably. Have you calculated your UC-weighted GPA? If it is only a 3.72, that is not competitive for most of them. You would probably only have a good chance at Riverside, Merced, and Santa Cruz; Santa Barbara, Irvine, and Davis would be reaches. I think your stats are low for UT-Austin, if you are not a TX resident. I’m not sure about UIUC - it probably depends on the department, but I suspect it is also a reach from out-of-state (a match in-state).Purdue might be within reach. What about Miami of Ohio?

UC does NOT superscore.
