I checked USNWR for SAT scores and an online source for an SAT/ACT concordance table. It appears that an ACT score of 27 would represent the average for incoming freshman at Trinity. So you should be fine. Nice GPA, btw. And good luck with the novel.

@merci81 crossing my fingers! Trinity seems to be harder on RD applicants than ED1/ED2 which I can understand. I’m hoping my act score is enough. Thanks for the help!

Since you have an interest in how an RD application, in particular, will do with your ACT score, I will take my reply a little further. Trinity will admit about 2400 students for the Fall class, the overwhelming majority of which (~2100) will be from the RD pool. So your application’s timing is quite typical, putting you only at somewhat of a disadvantage (provided you comfortably meet their admissions criteria) compared to if you had applied ED. So in that context, the 27 ACT is still fine.
@jooWonie: Trinity seems to encourage art submissions “in support of your application.” So that sounds favorable for you. And artists are often very good judges of their own work, so you should already have some idea of how your submission will be evaluated by Trinity.
Little/no aid: A bit low, for the range at trin is reportedly 26-30. Make sure to find a way to shine through other parts of the application, then you’ll be fine
