ACT scores and admissions?

I just got my ACT scores. I thought I did sub 30, so it was a pleasant surprise. I got a 33 composite with 34 english, 33 science, 33 reading, and ...

THIRTY ONE MATH

I don't know how I did so poorly; math is probably my best subject. I got 36s on every single practice test. I had a panic attack mid test, so that is probably the reason.

My questions:
1. Is a 33 good enough for WUSTL? I am applying ED (Obviously, I'll be going for a 34 composite score next time, but just in case it doesn't pan out)
2. If I get a 34+ math next time, will that "make up" for this 31? Does it look bad?

bump

In the book A for Admissions (written by a former Dartmouth Admissions Director), the author said that they barely look at your subscores. They just convert your ACT score into a comparable SAT score and run with it from there (In short: They just look at your composite). You’re competitive with a 33. Move on and focus on GPA/ECs/Essays.

Trust me, that 33 won’t keep you out of Harvard or Yale or WUSTL but the other factors might.

^ It depends on the school. Many schools would look at the section scores too. Math subscore is more critical for engineering for instance.
