Am I the only one who got there ACT scores in the mail?
It was kinda quick.

with or without writing ?

I got a 32--not too shabby.

English: 35 (+1)
Math: 33 (+5)--I think taking pre-cal last year helped
Reading:31 (+4)--probably could get a 34/35 since my SAT reading is high...
Science: 27 (+3)--this section is so hard to finish in 35 min!!!

I got a 30 (first time). I don't know if I should retake it in december though.. Any suggestions?

English: 34 - strange, since I can never get higher than a 600 for sat writing
Math: 28 - I thought I did better than that...
Reading:30 - I hated the hov/hot passage.
Science:28 - Wish there had been more biology passages x_x

If I haven't recieved my scores yet... 6:00 on Friday, the next possibility is Wednesday of next week, right? Is anyone else who haven't recieved their scores ****ed?

Well I went up a point from my last test. A 31 composite as opposed to a 30 composite. But I missed my goal of a 32 by one point!!! so frustrating. ahh well ill stop complaining. went up 5 points from my first test so i'll take it

C: 31
E: 31
M: 31
R: 30
S: 31

i just got my scores and i'm going through some mixed emotions

E: 36 (+4)
M: 36 (+2)
R: 36 (+2)
S: 33 (+6)

C: 35 35.25

Though i know i gained a lot and that 35's a great score, I can't help but be angry at myself and science's curve for not getting a 36. I mean come on, one more question right and i'd have a "perfect" score. meh.

English: 35 (+1)
Reading: 33 (+1)

Science: 31(+3)

I was aiming for a 32 and I thought that I had missed it, I'm so excited!

First time taking it and science absolutely raped my score haha

C:30
E:33
M:32

Science:23 <<<<<<<nooooooooo

But Ga Tech only looks at my math and english so I'm through with the act/sat forever!

What's considered decent in terms of composite scoring ?

Depends on who you are talking to, where they want to go to school, etc. If you want to know the percentile ranks in the country, go to the website. You'll see a composite of 36, 35, and 34 are all 99th percentile in the country. Maybe even a 33......anyway, the ACT site will give you what you want in YOUR child's perspective.

umm how bad is a 28 if your applying to top lacs?? damnit i was aiming for a 30 at least but it was my first shot but ive got 2 more tries before college so hopefully i can build this into a 32.

fast- if you retake in oct or something and get around a 30-31, then you should be okay. 28 is a bit low, but not bad for a first try. Just keep prepping.

CBoard, the trick is to not read the whole passage in any of the sections, including english. that way, you have more time to focus on the questions.

32, sort of disappointed b/c my science section was cut short, and it's obviously my worst score:

36-e
31-m
33-r-i'm surprised, i got an 800 in reading...but there were clanging bells
28-s

^ Thats what happened with me, except for reading. Although I thought the reading was easy, dunno how i got a 28. Also, im pleased with my science because it was really really hard and i ran outta time. I was shooting for a 33 though, but hey, it could be worse. Im happy with what I got

36 E (+1 from june act)
34 M (-2 from june. math was hard this time =(
33 R (+ 3 from june =)
28 S (i hate it.... this is exactly what i got last time and even though i practiced A LOT)
