I currently have a 21 on my ACT and I need at least a 25 on my ACT to be accepted automatically. I’m willing to study/practice for what ever amount of time, spend any amount of money on classes and ACT prep books, basically I’m willing to do whatever it takes to reach that 25. Does anyone have a recommended study plan for my situation?
Did you do any prep to get your 21? At a minimum get the Red Book, do 5 to 10 timed practice tests, analyze and learn how to answer every single question you get wrong - you should see score improvement as you progress. This site as well as YouTube and internet sites have lots of information about test strategy by section which is pretty important. Good luck.
I first took a ACT test to see how well would I need to study. Got a 28…
Here’s what was my study plan.
English - Get a grammar book, you’ll need it if you’re less than 30 in English. Study holistically cause the grammar book is right no matter what you say.
Math - Use the practice tests for this one and review the concepts for question you got wrong.
Reading - Use the practice tests but pace yourself to read fast (and accurately if you can)
Science - This is a strange one, you must understand that ACT doesn’t test you on concepts but on how well you can intake information and apply it. I didn’t need to study much for this (got 34 for this) My guess for you is to work on this skill through the practice tests.
Materials - don’t do courses, those are a waste of time and money. Just buy a official book and study.
Cheats - mainly for English, short answer is usually correct and always choose active answer.
For example,
Answer A: The ball was caught by me.
Answer B: I caught the ball.
Choose B
Also I got a 32 in the end
