<p>I've read in various places that the readers of the SAT essay are not allowed to do fact checking, even if they know something you say is wrong - for example, if you say that World War II happened in the 1700s, they can't penalize you for that, they just focus on if the example is used well. Does this bode the same way for the ACT?</p>
<p>I’ve heard they do not fact check, I think it’s done the same as the SAT.</p>
<p>They’re not assessing your knowledge of what you’re writing about, they’re assessing your writing ability. So incorrect facts aren’t an issue. You could write pure fantasy if you could make it work.</p>
