I’m planning on taking the February act. If I have already took the ACT once and got a good score, can I just the submit that score and submit the February act w/o writing?
Does the school require the writing section? If yes, then you need to take it with writing.
Does the school superscore?
@Gumbymom yes, they superscore so wouldn’t my older score count?
If they Superscore then it is do your benefit to take the ACT with writing and see if you can up all scores.
duke does not superscore the act
Duke says that they consider your highest scores from each section even if on different test dates, but that they “do not recalculate the composite.” So, they don’t superscore directly, but if you’re applying to Pratt and got a 31 one time on Math and a 34 the next time, they’ll “consider” your 34 even if your composite on that test date was lower. A 31 in math might cause some concern to the adcoms for a student applying to the engineering school, but a 34 would not.
