Activating my NYU email account

<p>I'm not sure I have correctly activated my NYU email account. I entered my NYU Net ID and password and clicked "Start," but when I check my preferences under NYU Home, it says "Unavailable" under "NYUHome Email." Any idea how to fix this?</p>

<p>I think you have to be officially enrolled as a student.</p>

<p>What plan did you apply under? Only ED1 students have been able to activate their NYU emails</p>

<p>I’m an ED 1 student and have already sent in my deposit.</p>

<p>To see if you did it correctly, you could set it up on your home computer, like making a new account in your email application and seeing if it works. That’s what I did and it works fine. If you do this step and you get an error message or the account can’t be linked onto your home computer, then you know you have not made the account correctly. </p>

<p>You should have gotten an email about a couple weeks ago from NYU regarding how to make the email. You can go to the website they give and repeat the process outlined in the instructions on the website. Then, your email should be set up. </p>

<p>If you do both these things and they don’t work, then I would call the admissions office or the tech support address they give. There’s also an outside chance that the issue might be on NYU’s end, but if this has been a recurring problem the servers probably aren’t the issue.</p>
