I have 3 small jobs that I feel are valuable to my application, but I don’t want to take up 3 spots in the activities section. Do you think I can put them all in one spot? Thanks
From my knowledge, I believe that you have to add them separately. If they are really valuable, definitely make room for them. If not, choose the best activities and include just those. Good luck!
You can list them in one spot, but you are limited by the number of characters for each spot; you may end up using 2. I would suggest you list them as different activities. Is one research? Is one community service (unpaid)? is one…etc. Try to find different aspects about each one and categorize them differently. You have 10 spots and are supposed to order them in the order of importance to you.
You can lump or split your activities however you deem appropriate and logical.
I ran into the same problem - I have 3 internships that I want to list, but don’t want to take up 3 spaces because they’re just summer internships…I lumped them together, but had to sacrifice more detailed explanations of what I did at each one because 150 character limit smh. They’re all IT internships though, so I could categorize them together. I guess it depends on how similar your jobs were slash if you’re willing to only say 2 or 3 words about each one (stupid word limit)
Just put “Work Experience” in the activity title. Say “See Additional Information” in the description. Then in the Addl Info section have a header that says, “Activity - Work Experience”, and have a bullet for each job. Concise – something like:
- 10-12 - Dairy Queen employee, 8 hours/week
- Summer after 11 - Camp counselor at XX Music Camp, full time.
thank you all! one more question: If one of my jobs is my topic for the essay, is it necessary to put it in the activities section?
If you have room, add it. If its something you spend a lot of time on, they may wonder after reading the essay why it was omitted in this activity/EC section.
