ACTUAL total cost of UPitt OOS + scholarship

I suggest you look at course descriptions at all the schools and see what is available. Also if you are truly advanced, the existence of a good graduate program in English would be useful as you would possibly take graduate classes as a senior. If you plan to go to graduate school, going to UTD would not hurt you that much assuming you get very good grades. It is the university of your terminal degree which is most important.
Finally, If you want to discuss these issues further, I suggest you open a thread at the college search forum instead of Pitt since we are veering away from the topic here.

Here’s a link to [Pitt’s Chess Club.](Chess Club @ University of Pittsburgh)

Keep in mind that Pitt is in the city, and therefore nothing would stop you from participating in any chess club in the city (and all public transportation is free with your Pitt ID). For instance, there is the [Pittsburgh Chess Club](http://www.pittsburghcc.org/). There is a Pittsburgh Chess League that puts on rated tournaments that the Pitt Club participates in.

[edit: seems like you already looked into Pittsburgh’s chess scene, I missed that post]

We were visiting Pitt last weekend and cut through the William Pitt Union to get from Forbes to Fifth. There must have been a Chess tournament going on because there were people with portable chess sets all over the place!
