Makes sense. Caffiene is up there also.

My s was diagnosed with an ADD focus disorder late in the 3rd trimester of freshman year. He had managed to get thru middle school and it was not detected until high school when he was struggling with tutors and drowning in 2 honors classes. He was prescribed Concerta 36 mg and he now is running in sophomore year a straight A average. In fact from freshman year to sophomore year he went up an amazing 490 pointson the PSAT. For junior year, we now see that, with the aid of the pill, he will be able to handle 2 AP's and 2 honors (he is in a rigorous prep school in the south) so there is hope at the end of the tunnel.....

Your son must be a very smart kid to make it through all those years without help. Did you ever wonder if he had issues earlier?

Now that I look back, my son must have had problems - he was very fidgety, couldn't sit.- social promotion throughout elementary and maiddle school kept us in the dark. If it wasn't for his history teacher in 9th grade who said my s sat in class "like a deer with headlights", coupled with the "in the basement grades", we never would have pursued testing. We are fortunate tho - major turnaround.
