Hi, thank you for clicking on this post.
I’m about to be a senior in high school and I have a solid list of schools that I know are all matches and safeties for me. I really want to add one more school with these criteria and I won’t be sharing stats because I’m okay with the school being a reach since I don’t have any reaches on my list yet:
has great football and a lot of school spirit!!
large undergraduate amount (20,000 or more)
communications major (maybe with strategic communication or PR concentration?)
Thank you so much! Any suggestions are appreciated!!!
Consider Virginia Tech. We’ve been to a lot of schools that claim they are the best at supporting their teams, but VT wins from what we’ve seen. It’s in a college town where the college pretty much IS the main event. I think that helps.
For others who do a decent (very noticeable team spirit) job, Ohio St, Penn St, Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Michigan all come to mind. I’m sure there are others. I haven’t visited the western schools to know which ones to add (or not).
I grew up in Pa. and moved to SEC country for awhile. Nothing compares in intensity to an Alabama/Auburn football week. Maybe Ohio St/Michigan or Florida/Georgia would be close.
If you made me pick it would be between Northwestern (Big 10 and I think they have the #1 Communications program) and the University of Georgia (SEC with a beautiful campus and 90 minutes from Atlanta).
