Adding course deadline

I am in the engineering school, where according to Add/Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines: University Registrar at the University of Virginia the deadline to add is September 1. However, I want to add a class that is in Arts and Science, where the deadline is September 11. I just want to make sure if this note "Note: These deadlines are enforced based on who owns the course, so Engineering students in your classes must follow your deadlines, and vice versa." means that I have time till the 11th to add the course. Am I right? Thanks for responses.

You really should not wait until the 11th to add the class anyways, you’ll be really behind and just end up dropping it. I would just add it soon.

Hey thanks for the reply hazelorb. I am on the waitlist for the class, so there isn’t much I can do except hope I get in by September 11th. Do you think I should go and sit in the class anyway?

Yes yes yes!

Just bring a course action form, and pester the prof until he/she lets you in.

Rules are determined by what school you’re in (i.e. your first major), not the class. Thus if your first major you have to say do chemistry/physics/etc rather than non-western perspectives, similarly add/drop dates work the same (based on your major, not what class it is).

Remember that e-school has a very reasonable drop deadline. Thus just load up on more than you plan to keep.

Be careful. If you have too much on your plate, and thus need to drop something, your other classes could be suffering as well

The College extended the deadline till this Friday for dropping and adding classes.
