I am very excited about the patch... Supposedly I can wear it for 6-9 hours. Lets say I have a half day of school, I can take it off at 12 and enjoy the rest of my day. Lets say I have a test after school? It will still keep my ADHD in check.

Right now I use Focalin XR... And I need more. The medicine is dead from when I take it at 8am to the end of school at 3-4PM. I need to do homework from 7-10PM and During lacrosse from 4pm-6pm I would love to be able to pay attention more.

Bottom line: 3 hours of homework takes 5 hours. I just need a medication that can help me do homework after school each day. My mom won't let me take more then 5g at 6pm to help me with my homework. I only notice a difference with 20g. I take 40g daily.

My son is a freshman at college. He has been using Datrana since his senior year of high school with excellent results. He has not had problems eating or sleeping. The medicine
has a "smooth landing" when it exits your system, no headaches or irritability. Also he likes the freedom that the medication gives him especially as his class schedule can vary day to day. The reason he began to use it was for the SAT. The first time he took the test
(he gets extended time) the Focalin did not last. When he took the test again with Datrana there was a big difference in the score.

There can be a down side to the medicine. About 10% of the population has allergic reactions to varying degrees. Of course all must be discussed at length with your parents and doctor.

I take 27 mg a day of Concerta, and it works very well with me. I also have anxiety, which I also take medicine, 10mg of Lexapro, for. Taking them both helps my concentration immensely. I probably could use a higher dosage, however, because I'm not as focused as I should be.

my son tried the patch. For some reason he did not care for it. I also found it very hard to find. None of the pharmacies had it in stock and it often took weeks for them to get it. Also our insurance company would not pay for it.
