ADHD screening?

I visited shs regarding the possibility of having ADD/ADHD buy they said they ate done with screening for this year. They also gave me a list of psychiatrists but also said I have have to pay a good amount of money insurance doesn't cover all of it.

Before you wonder why I want to see if I have ADD/ADHD, I've always had trouble focusing but only really noticed it when I came to college. I initially thought it was due to the fact that I didn't study well bit I continually did horrible on all my exams when I thought I had done well, I knew there was something else, but it just seems like I can't get good grades no matter what. I don't think it severe because I can focus but just not completely.

Any help?

Thanks

Find a psychiatrist in your area and go during the summer?

Yeah, I don’t think seeing a psychiatrist this school year is going to help very much.

Maybe try to get some Ritalin for reading week and take care of it in the summer?

^Illegal things are bad.

Oh, is it prescription only? I don’t know anything about ADHD/ADD medication.

Speak with your primary care doctor. Or if not around home, speak with the campus doctor. He or she ought to be able to screen you and or can send you to school’s medication prescribing doctor.

Summer is good yet for my money take the time now over the next week or two to get a diagnosis. If you are ADD you are likely to get a prescription that could make a world of difference, and often over night.

In the meantime, make sure to get enough sleep. Sleep issues can look like aDHD. Too, 30 minutes of moderate intense exercise several times per week is often like prozac and rittalin in a bottle.

For more about a diagnosis there are tons of screeners on the net. Pretty easy to see if you are on the right track with things.

ADHD drugs are schedule 2 controlled substances. Giving someone without a prescription or selling ritalin, is the same as giving/selling drugs like fentanyl, morphine, oxycontin, etc.

Shs said they’re done with screening this year. They did give me the names of other psychiatrists around campus but it may take a few weeks to get an appointment, you think it’s worth it?
