Admission Decisions Class of 2023

Wow @pama3115 that just seems so late to give an answer to kids that were EA and deferred. We are assuming at this point anyone admitted won’t get scholarships (even when in the correct band) and are moving on to our other options.

@HHSMomx2 are you saying your student is within the scholarship matrix and got deferred? I’m not saying that doesn’t happen, but it seems unusual unless your student applied to an exceptionally competitive major. Have you heard back from other schools?

@lastone03 - yes, that is the case. We are OOS so that likely comes into play and he was applying for the business school so that also likely comes into play. We have heard from other schools and he has been accepted and gotten generous scholarships.

@HHSMomx2 We are OOS too (40%+ of SC students are OOS) and I know that our point scale in VA was less generous than South Carolina’s (they recalculate on their scale for scholarship purposes). I also know they don’t superscore - so my guess is, that if he meets the hurdles and hasn’t been accepted, then it’s probably the competitiveness of Darla Moore that’s the issue. Best of luck to him. Hope you get good news soon!

Has anyone been admitted into the Gateway program yet or are those decisions made at the March decision date??

Anyone be able to help me? My daughter is OOS she has a 3.6 gpa, 1280 SAT and a variety of very good extracurriculars and put her top major choice as elementary education. She applied regular decision and loves USC. I would love to know everyones opinions on her acceptance or denial, just so I have a better idea before we find out. Thanks!

Did anyone who was put into 2nd review get an email last night asking to verify the highest SAT scores that admissions has for you.

Yes we did.

We did too

@pama3115 my daughter also received that same email, but she has already been accepted.

This is not necessarily an USC question but a FAFSA question. Has anyone received an email with a college making a correction to your FAFSA? If so, any idea of why? Thanks.

No email here OOS (NJ) EA, accepted 2nd round Dec. 10th

@kristen2256 take a look at the acceptance thread from last year to see where your daughter falls. Good luck !

Does USC notify the student if they were not accepted into honors? If so, when does usually happen? Thanks

I just received this email from admissions… The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships has received the results of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In order for our office to begin communicating with you about your financial aid application, you will need to establish your online identity.

What does this mean? Did anyone else receive a similar email?

Yesterday looks like , they use their self service account to share fin aid awards

We got the same email about financial aid. I found it interesting since my daughter hasn’t been accepted yet. I’ve never seen anything from a school regarding financial aid without already being admitted to the school. Maybe a positive sign?

My daughter received same email last night. Hoping its a good sign.

Same email with request to create an id on the “Self Service Carolina” site. Applied RD and has not rec’d decision. Curious and hopeful!

got same email yesterday ,but was deferred in December, weird
