Hello, people. This is extremely important for me as USC’s game dev program is the BEST in the world (#1) and as the title suggests, I’d like to know what are the requirements(GPA, Extra curriculars, etc) to get into the Virtebi Engineering school in USC for the MS in Game Development program. I know it varies, obviously, and I want to get into the school. How competitive is the applicants pool? Did any of your friends get in? I’ve checked online in other websites about this specific program for admission related answers but people that don’t study there are answering and obviously I can’t rely on those. Not much information could be found in other places, by the way. I checked their websites out but also couldn’t find any statistics on their admission numbers and other relevant parts related to it. All I could find(on Quora) was that it’s not so competitive and that answer was written years ago by a person that doesn’t even study there. Can successful applicants (or friends of successful applicants) that got into the MS program for GAME DEVELOPMENT tell me what their application consisted of? What all did you have in your application? What work(extracurricular, volunteering, community service, clubs, leadership positions, etc) did you do in undergrad? Did you win any awards? How many of them did you mention? What games did you make(if you did, at all)? How did you get in to the program? How much time did you spend on your application and the statements of purpose? What was your GPA and GRE score? Please provide as much information as possible because I’m extremely passionate to get into their program! It’s always been a dream. All answers are appreciated as I’m tryna get as much information as I can. Thanks!@
Are you from California and are you already in an undergrad CS program?
No, I’m an international student. I study in India and yes, I’m doing a Computer Science and Engineering course in the college. My GPA is a bit less but what are the other factors here that can help me significantly increase my chances and cover up for the GPA? I’m extremely interested to attend the school because my career will be based on games entirely.
I do know USC is a bit GPA centric. What did the entire application of successful admits have?
