admissions decision

How does the admissions office make the final decision for acceptance? is it a committee vote, dean of admissions' decision, etc.? If anyone knows, that would be great.

def. NOT a committee vote. an admissions office rep just spoke to us about that. i forget the exact procedure.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe each application gets read by two different people. Two yes votes makes an admission and two no votes makes a rejection. If one is a yes, and one is no, it goes to committee, where the application is reviewed and decide by vote.

Of course that says nothing about the guidelines used by the readers to make the decisions.

If you want to know more about the decision process in general, read a book called The Gatekeepers.
