Does anyone know when Bates will be posting Admission Decisions and sending out letters? Also, is anyone aware of whether or not they post them on our accounts?

I’m freaking out…

I’m freaking out…

they dont post online.
i dont know when you'll receive it in the mail

I just looked at last year's posts and the earliest date that applicants reported receiving letters was march 28, 2008

that is agonizing. i cannot wait that long.

I got a call saying they were very interested in me and that I was accepted, and they are "building a case" for me and wanted to know if I was really serious about attending. Whatever that means...

^ That's nice! Congrats!!

D received a letter yesterday from a professor involved in admissions. The professor commented on D's application and stated that he/she is hoping D will receive a formal offer. Then the majority of the letter was an invitation to attend Bates' Mt David Undergraduate Research Summit. We are taking this as a positive sign.

smoda--cool! It, indeed, seems like a positive sign;-)

Hey Morandi - Still waiting on 8 decisions.......... :)

Smiles..........it won't be long. Get ready!!

smoda61-
yea it seems to be the bates' form of likely letters, in a sense
i got the same exact letter from a professor from the English dep.
It probably means we will get in...i mean they prompt us to RSVP for the special "summit" program and we go to the "admissions office where someone will greet you." sounds definitely positive to me :)

D's was also from an English professor and I agree with your other comments.

This is going to be a very long month. :)

My son received that same letter.

as did mine-two years ago other son got one and he was accepted as well.

At the moment, my parent agree to spend more money on my undergraduate years, so I tend to contact the admission officer to let them know about that. Will it increase my chance?

no - plus they've probably already made a decision. They have the $ to offer finaid - i don't think need is a huge factor for Bates, even in this economic "crisis." But ultimately, do what you feel you need to do - whatever that is, it's the right decision.

Bates (web site) says RD applicants will receive decisions in the mail no later than Tuesday 3/31.

So maybe they're being mailed out late the week of 3/23?

I just got an email...

Decisions will be emailed to people residing out side the U.S. on Friday, March 27.

talha_adnan//when did you receive the email? I'm an international yet haven't received anything yet about notification date yet...

I asked them. :D So, that email was the reply I was quoting.

I feel really depressed though, Got rejected from Gettysburg today. Bates seems almost impossible now. :(
