Admissions is not accepting my SAT scores sent in by my guidance counselor; deadline is Feb 15th...

Long story short, I had added NEU to the schools that would receive all the SAT exams I’ve taken through College Board around early January. Unfortunately for me, I had another SAT Subject Test on January 23rd that was canceled due to “snow” and moved to Feb 20th, which made me really mad. But because I included that test on the scores I would be sending to NEU and most of my other schools (included two SAT Is and another Subject Test from May), ALL my test scores have been delayed to be sent until AFTER I take my final SAT II. I verified with all other schools that if I send an official letter from my guidance counselor (most requiring an official school seal stamped on) with a letter of my predicament and my SAT scores printed from the College Board website, this would suffice. When I had called NEU about it a couple weeks ago they said to call again in a few days because they were waiting for a reply from College Board about it, or something stupid like that. My guidance counselor sent one to NEU just in case.

I did not call NEU back because when I checked my application status online, the SAT scores were included in the stuff that they had received. Basically I figured my application was done. But today I got an email saying I still haven’t sent my official scores and that my entire application will still be canceled if I don’t send them in by the 15th. Even if I bothered to send the scores again, excluding the final SAT II, through college board, they probably wouldn’t receive the scores on time. Also, I will not be spending more money to send the scores again anyways because NEU is literally the only school that has no flexibility about this. Mind you, my scores are still coming in, just not on time.

I truly felt that my application status indicated that I was all set and I’m actually very disappointed in NEU, sorry to say. I had heard here and there that their admissions is kind of cold, but I did not think they were this aloof to student’s needs. I understand deadlines, I understand they don’t want to hunt down students for stuff, but what do they want from students like I who have no say in when their scores would come in? I guess I should have called them anyways just to be extra, extra sure but I thought the application status was a solid indicator of whether my application was complete. Maybe it would have Official SAT Scores instead of just SAT Scores. I don’t know, but anyways I think I’m royally screwed because they are closed until Tuesday due to observance of President’s Day, and by then the deadline will have passed.

BTW I just emailed my NEU counselor and I hope to hear back from him soon, but I think there will be bad news. I’m not sure what to do at this point. I also have already sent the FAFSA and CSS, so if my application gets canceled, I kind of want my money back. I don’t know what the point of all this was really, I just hoped someone may be in a similar situation, and maybe as a warning for any future applicants. Main tip would be don’t trust the application status as what it says I believe can be interpreted many different ways clearly, and just don’t take any January exam–but I would recommend that to everyone  Even for a minor test, like the SAT II (not even required).
