admitted by EVERY SINGLE ivy league school? anyone?

^ To potentially increase the number of viable choices come May 1st?

^^
An0maly did because they were “all great fits for him.” He then proceeded to give the advice that people ignore prestige and only apply if they really felt they would fit.

I’m applying to all 8.

Seriously, clf, calm down. Let her ask her question. If you don’t like her (or her question) just log off or click another forum or whatever. But don’t bring your hostility here.

@Jersey13 – are they all reaches for you?

Aren’t Ivy’s reaches for everyone :)

But some of them are so different!

That’s kind of my point. You’re applying to eight schools that are reaches. You must be planning on applying to a lot of schools because you need some matches and some safeties in there also.

Honesto is right, they are very different schools. The only thing they have in common is the league they are in.

@Saugus An0maly did not get accepted to all 8, though he did get admitted by the majority of them, like 6 or 7. As far as I know, Anonymous93 is the only one that achieved it this year. I also remembered that he/she applied to 26 schools and got accepted by 24 of them, Stanford and MIT being the only exceptions.

Indeed they are, but I don’t vehemently despise any of them.

And Pea, if that was a veiled request for my stats, I don’t disclose them lol.

I’ll be vague and say my academic objective stats (Standardized Tests, Transcript/Rank/GPA) are pretty much as high as possible. My EC’s aren’t too shabby either imo. I am definitely not applying to all 8 Ivy’s as a “hail Mary” to see if I get lucky and am accepted by one.

I was going to leave this thread alone until you left that comment collegehappy, way to go. First off, never call me clf. Secondly, my comments didn’t turn very hostile until people became confrontational over them. If you all think so highly of pigs, let her defend herself and this would have all turned to PMs and you could have all avoided it. You just added fuel to the fire, which is what I think you wanted to do.

@Jersey13 – You’re reading a lot into what I am asking. I’m not that interested in you stats. I never thought you were applying to all eight Ivys trying to get lucky. I can think of exactly one reason why someone would apply to all eight Ivys and you just confirmed it.

Sorry if I misinterpreted, but I read a pretty obvious implication in the above quotes.

And what reason might that be?

I’m not saying this, but I think they’re talking about prestige.

Honesto is right; each of the 8 Ivies has its own distinct feel geared towards different types of students. Even after so much time on CC, I’m still not entirely sure why someone would want to apply to all 8. The “small community, liberal-artsy” Dartmouth and Brown are a far cry from the atmosphere at Columbia, which is located right in the heart of NYC.

Dang that’s a lot of supplement essays

Locational differences are negligible to me.

^ You must have very few preferences then… I know I wouldn’t be able to preserve my sanity if I had to live anywhere even remotely suburban for 4 years!

My preferences are mostly academic in nature.
