Admitted Fall 2011

Has anyone heard back from the Business Administration Major specifically Accounting. I am still waiting to hear back from sdsu about transferring. I have finished all the classes except for 1 but I have a 4.0 and go to a local cc.

Curious if anyone has heard back from accounting cause the wait is killing me.

are the gpa’s you guys are posting your CSU gpa’s or gpa’s on your transcript? and as for honor classes, do they count as extra points towards your gpa alongside ap classes?

Have any other transfer students heard anything yet?
if so, what major/gpa/area?

I’m also a transfer student from the LA county region. Just like you, I’m currently awaiting an admissions decision. I had a 3.8 grade point average from a community college. My only downside is that I’m not an SD resident. So far, I’ve received all of the decisions from the Cal States I have applied to with the exception of SD. I believe, the majority of freshmen received their decisions, but transfer students have to wait for now. SD is probably my primary selection unless I’m accepted to UC Berkeley or UCLA.

I’m still waiting too… nursing major. 3.72 GPA. As of today, I have not heard of any transfer nursing majors getting admission decisions yet. Maybe they are still being reviewed.

I’ve been admitted!

Major: Business Administration in Management!
Transfer student from California Community College with a 3.82 gpa.

I’m excited to dorm, it’s still not too late for the “college” experience.
Good luck to everybody!
:)

Yo TwoBuckin, are you a nursing major attempting to transfer from a community college? If you are, your stats look great since the nursing school factors GPA into the majority of their admission decisions.

I’m also a nursing major trying to transfer to SDSU as my primary selection. The program is quite long thou being three years, meaning we have to spend 5 undergraduate years in contrast with everyone else who have to do only 4.

@jfisher23 I hope that we both get in. Would you be in the program during the Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 class? Also, I wouldn’t mind spending an extra year at SDSU, it is such a fun campus. haha.

Good question, I’m attempting to enroll for the Fall 2011 semester. From what I heard, the Spring is easier to gain admission due to everyone applying for the Fall. The reason why I was stressing over the nursing program being 3 years is because I’m almost 22 and I need to enter the work force really soon because I feel as if I’m getting up there in age. What also sucks is that nursing majors are the only ones who has to be accepted by the admissions of SDSU, then become accepted to the nursing program itself. So if someone is accepted to SD, but not accepted to the program, it’s pretty much done for. I’m also considering of going pre-med with nursing as my undergrad. I heard the course load is going to be hectic, but since the school runs on a semester system, you’ll seek out time to balance out social life along with the academia. SDSU is really the only school that emphasizes on GPA, whereas the other schools (other cal states) want volunteering, foreign language, and work experience. I’m very familiar with the SD area because I was in the military stationed near the Coronado area. The climate is very warm and the women are just plain gorgeous.

In addition, I also applied to one other Cal State and two UC’s. But, my intended majors for the UC’s is not Nursing. I think I’m at a disadvantage as I’m an LA county resident. But, we’ll see how it goes.

do they send us an email when they have reached a decision or do we just keep just checking the webportal?

@Jfisher23 - I wish you the best of luck! I know that you will get in. I believe that Nursing is one of the only majors that do not accept people based on the TAG program (local community colleges). I think they base it on the second application that you turn in to the school of Nursing and SDSU itself.

@amywallace - I believe that it is just on webportal and an e-mail will appear a couple days later.

On SDSU’s ADMISSIONS Facebook page they have posted several times that all decisions for undergraduates should be out by the end of this week!! So keep checking your WebPortal’s!!

Well I feel a little better that I havent heard from them yet knowing that no other transfer students have heard anything either. I cant find a date or anything of the sort. Does anyone know if theres a date out for transfer students yet?

@babyygurl Everybody, including transfers should know by the end of this week. Probably the latest day would be on Friday because open house is on Saturday. Good luck!

@UCorCALPOLY thanks for the heads up!

@Twobucktin Thanks, I hope your right because I’m getting tired of checking admission status’ constantly for 3 different schools. Atleast if this one comes out I’ll only be checking for two.

I spoke with admissions today because my status is pending as well and they said transfers admissions haven’t been completed yet and everyone will know by the end of March. I also asked if they could just pull it up and tell me if i got denied or accepted and they said it is pending for them as well.

I was accepted last Thursday as a transfer student. Also, does anyone know if open house is mandatory?

Hey Two Buckin, I just recently got off the phone with the Office of Admissions. They stated that nursing students will not receive any admission decisions in contrast with all the other students because they first have to receive word and confirmation from the nursing department themselves. So practically, the decisions go hand in hand. I called the nursing department and they will not release decisions until late April or May. This could potentially affect housing/financial aid since its a first come first served basis. Basically, we’re not going to receive decisions on our web portal at all this weekend compared to everyone else until April/May! That’s ridiculous!

UGH. I’m pretty sure it says “notices of admission will be sent out in early March.” I don’t know about you, but early March ended for me after the second week. Then it was supposed to be posted by today, and now the end of the month? This is driving me nuts!
