BC has their second Admitted Students Day this Sunday and they only have 750 spots. I wasn’t able to sign up on time for one of them because my parents weren’t sure we could afford BC at first. This past weekend, however, they decided to give it a try. So I called the office to ask if I could still attend the admitted students day even though I’m only on the waitlist, and they said they can’t say no, but wouldn’t say yes either because they don’t want an overcrowded atmosphere. The only other option for me would just be anther campus visit and info session sometime next week. My question is: Should I still try to go on Sunday? BC is my top choice.
You’re on the waitlist for BC. For your sake, you need to focus your energy on your “Plan B” school.
Read through the recent BC “waitlist” threads from the past month.
You have no control over the factors involved in getting off the waitlist. It’s time to move on.
@jpm50 no, I’m on the waitlist for admitted students day. I got into BC Honors Program for CAS. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
Do you have friends that attend BC
If so why not do an overnight with one of them instead
You will get the real feel of the school much more than from any other visit
Good luck
Sorry @thebrain13. I misunderstood your post.
I think you should still try to go. Many of the sessions are in big groups. They just need to set limits to make sure their headcounts for food and refreshments are not off too much.
Actually, if you could do “Eagle for a Day” that would be much more personalized…
yes, go on Sunday. They’ll squeeze you in.
BC has ZERO availability for tours last week of April and the entire month of May. What gives? Even their tours are exclusive and hard to get into??
@suzQ7 - Each information and tour is cut off at 250 registered visitors. Our final day of tours and information sessions for the spring semester is April 22, and they resume for the summer on June 8.

@suzyQ7 As you can imagine, April is a popular month for visiting campus. The week of the 18th (really the 19th with Patriot’s Day closing campus due to the Boston Marathon) is especially crowded since it’s vacation week in many states. There are only so many tour guides and having tours of 100 people really makes little sense since some won’t be able to hear the guide. If you’re able to come in the summer, the tours are often smaller and it’s thus easier to get questions answered. You’ll miss seeing students on campus, but the smaller tours may offset that. Campus is absolutely gorgeous in the summer as well.
Thanks. We adjusted our schedule to make it during an open time. Surprised there are no tours in May.
The final week of the classes, studying for and completing finals, and commencement leads us to May 23, with the next weekend Memorial Day. We think it’s important to allow students to focus on all that and receive a small vacation before the ~20 return to work for the summer.
