hey. for the people who got in ed, is princeton offering to transport you to princeton for a few days in april to get to know the school? if so, when will this occur? I need to know b/c I have to turn in a commitment card for the visiting program to another college by April 1st, and I doubt I will have heard from Princeton by then.

Thanks :)

Nope. Only the RDers. And that sucks. Boo. However, if you are RD, there is an admit students weekend. I don't believe transportation is provided, though, so it's come if you want to pay for it, don't if you don't.

What? We don't get inivited to the admitted students' weekend?! Aren't we the ones with the most Princeton spirit?! OUTRAGEOUS! (Not, of course, that I could actually attend from Beijing, but still).

Doesn't it suck?! Yeah, I found that out not long after we were admitted. Apparently, we don't need to go since we're bound to go. What kind of BS is that? In fact, Pton could probably benefit from our being there since we could help sell the RDers on the school. Oh well...September isn't that far away, I guess.

Wait, who am I kidding? Yes it is.

severe but incomprehensible choking noise

OK, slightly calmer now, but I'm still outraged. I mean, theres only 593 of us, and I bet most of us won't go because, well, we're already going so it's not like they need much space, and come on, we'd bully those RDers into accepting!

sighs So countdown to September it is, then. At least I get to move in early.

We sure would! You tell 'em, cevo.

Go OA! I think I'll show up at 6:00 on the morning of September 3. And I will be first in line to get my dorm key, dangit!

Sorry, phil, but I've decided to go for International Pre-Orientation. I need to get a social security number and bank account set up before stuff happens cuz I doubt I'll have time to go to Trenton and haggle with the lovely people at the Social Security office there. I really wish they'd put IPO before OA - I wouldn't mind cutting summer short for that.

How dare you complain about not being able to go to some silly accepted students weekend. You get to spend 4 years there! I probably won't even get in! ;) lol.

nods head and agrees with Phil and Cevonia

EDers should be invited and encouraged to attend the Princeton Student Weekend, we could absolutely promote the school to our RD peers! Besides, by only inviting regular decision acceptees, Pton is highlighting the fact that the weekend is all for public relations, and that they're just putting on a show to entice. Not nice. :(

... still, I'm happy i'm in :)

Noooo, cevo! OA/CA is awesome. You shouldn't have to miss out on that. Darn them for putting them at the same time (I'm assuming that's what happened). Maybe I'll film a "Choose Your Own Adventure" for you out there. It'll be just like you were there! We'll supply the annoying bugs and oppressive heat to your room, even :D

And cav, when you're as impatient as I am and not a very good long-term thinker, you complain. Silly me and my imperfections. And no pessimism! Harumph.

haha basically pton says this about ED

"U apply ED. ur forced to come here, wait your stuck! mwa ha ha ha (evil laugh) we dont have to convince you to come here! ur stuck! ur stuck! HAHAHAHAHAHA we laugh at u!"

sad :( haha

When do we leave princeton for OA? What time of the day on Saturday, 9/3?

are you sure we can't go to admitted students weekend? i'm sure they'd take our money and let us in...if we can't go i'll go chill there a few days during my spring break.

Bokonon, u A kurt vonnegut fan? or just enjoyed cat's cradle? oh and also we have the same birthday...weird..except ur a year older.

Oh, we can go. We just won't officially be a part of the Admit Weekend. Which is totally cool, 'cause we could be like renegades and bandits. With black masks. And ninja swords. Mmm.

yea, basically what phil said, u can go but u arent technically part of the entire weekend. a buncha us could go and just hang out tho =P

ahha, yeah...kurt vonnegut's the man.

hahahhaha thanks phil, that made my day, and it's not even 11 am yet. And thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind

Like the commercial says, "Hey, it can happen!"

shrekie,
being "stuck" at princeton is hardly a bad thing...
