Admitted to Berkeley

i'm going to the may14 reception as i am a mere 40-minute BART ride away from the campus.

i'm also going to the june 9 calso. and i'm taking my mom, most probably.

I was wondering if any of you sent your AP scores to Berkeley yet. Do we really need to give them all our AP numbers from each year in order for it to send? I don't know if I have all my booklets :(

Oh and I am going to Calso on the last day.. July 9th or something.

Welcome Reception at the Berkeley Campus on May 14th
You are invited to join us at a Resource/Information Reception, Saturday, May 14, 2005, from 1-3 p.m. This event will provide accurate information and valuable insight into your upcoming Cal experience! After a brief welcome by Chancellor Birgeneau, you will be free to visit with representatives from many campus offices and have questions answered by current students. Learn more...

please give me more info on this event.

I hope there will be some people without their parents there, I will feel so out of place! :p

Currently residing in Florida prevents me from attending the May 14th reception... but i'm definitely making the flight out for CalSO on June 9th. I hope the College of Chemistry has all of my documents in order by then, i'm mailing them all of the requested info tomorrow.

-A

You dont need your AP numbers. I just sent mine and they only asked for my social security number then confirmed my address and such. It was simple.

I don't have the 5/14 event on my "events" tab anymore. But I've submitted my SIR already, so I'm led to believe that the Welcome Receptions are designed to convince admitted applicants who are still on the fence to enrol at Cal. As it happens, one of my classmates who was admitted still isn't sure whether to go to Cal or LA, so she signed me up as her guest. Another classmate of ours has decided on Cal but hasn't submitted her SIR yet, so she was still able to sign up for the same event. And included a guest, too - another friend of ours might come :)

can anyone tell me where that event is? which building>

What is the deal with the CalNet ID? I tried to create one before I submitted my SIR, but I'm almost positive every time I tried it gave me this message: "The passphrase you entered is not valid. If you are a student trying to enter your PIN, be aware that a passphrase has already been set up for this CalNet ID. You may contact User & Account Services for assistance."

Now, I just submitted my SIR and I get the same message when I try to create the ID. Does this mean I DID create it before, and now I've forgotten my password by default and need to get it reset, or do I just need to wait longer and try again later?

Yes, that means you already set up your passphrase and you probably do need to call that number.

Hey guys!!! I am flying from:

Long Beach airport to Oakland (Jetblue) on June 8th at 3:30
and will be flying back on
June 9th Oakland to Long Beach (jetblue) at 8:05!

You have not been admitted to Stanford.

ouch.. that was classic :D

I would buy a BMW rather than a Ferrari because I like BMW - There is nothing wrong with that statement, although I don't know if I will have the money to buy either one, I am merely expressing an option. If you took it to another meaning, I am sorry, but that was not my intended meaning.

I doubt a school adcom wants someone who feels the need to say stuff over such trival comment in their school.

All hail the adcom expert!

To put it in your language: I doubt a school adcom wants someone who feels the need to deter others from applying to that school.

Well, my brother made that comment, so technically I am not at fault. Remember to log out everytime though. it's important to your privacy.

for awhile I didn't really know who were you refer too. Today I found out you were referring to area69, who told a member here named CC student about not applying to stanford. It's unfortunate to see my brother being such an immature person.

Mind you, even if you choose not to remember your login, your login stays.

Liar.

Yes, how easy is it to label someone as a liar. I hope you have a brother who did the exact same thing to you.

EDITED for flames.

Also, your generous personal attacks have already been noted by a variety of adcoms.

I assume this is because you are in personal contact with them, correct?

I guess the system didn't fail after all, they did keep some of the undesirables out.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black:)

I guess I am in a good mood today and decides to stop the personal attacks.
