Advent Calendars

@abasket, I have not gotten Bonne Mamam’s advent calendar but did get something similar from them for Christmas last year for my sister and son and his wife. It was a 10 little jar one(behind the doors) of different jam and honey. It was a big hit and very pretty- nicely illustrated. I’m betting their advent calendar one would also be very nice and very appreciated by anyone who likes different jams, preserves, honey.

I need to check this one out…my kids both like jelly, jam and honey!

Lego advent calendars are indeed the best. Star Wars Advent Calendar 75307 might still work?

Maybe this??

Yes. It was very nice but appears to be out of stock.

I was hoping they would be coming out with a new version this year with just 10 jars, but so far, they don’t seem to have done that.

My cousin (who is a profession artist) did a beautiful one for her mother with tiny little original watercolors behind each door.

We always put a slip of paper with a daily activity in each pocket. It might be “donate to food bank” or “tell someone this holiday joke” or something we have planned, like getting the tree or going to a holiday concert.

The last few years I have gone with theme gifts to go with the activity slips. One year it was different holiday socks every other day. Another year it was hair scrunchies.

We have an old advent calendar in the form of a wooden cabinet with a small Christmas tree on top. The cabinet has 25 drawers, and each has a tiny Christmas tree ornament to be added to the tree. I usually also buy one of the pretty paper calendars, but this year I discovered that Lego has “advent calendars,” so I ordered a Mandalorian set for my daughter - 25 tiny kits to put together. She’s 19 but she still loves Lego.

Just an FYI. Costco.com has Lego Star Wars and Harry Potter advent calendars; membership required to buy ($38 each).

ETA: also Godiva 2-pack advent calendars ($40).

Aldi will have a wine and a cheese Advent calendar available in their stores on November 3rd.

Interesting. Our Costco doesn’t have the Godiva advent calendars but has Lindt. They have a sign for Star Wars and Marvel but only have the HP Lego calendars in stock.

Costco also has wine and beer advent calendars.

Their online and in-store inventories can differ. Our BFFs love Lindt… will have to check our stores to see if there are any left.

Thought about getting a beer one for SIL, but my husband vetoed that idea. Too much beer for one dude!

I grew up with christmas calendars and always had a homemade felt one. Our kid also got a homemade felt one and would be upset if I would only get a store bought one. Not sure how it continue with the kid going to college.

We put a mix of little toys and chocolates in them.

This year I splurged on one for myself from Reber with marzipan.

Last year I bought my husband a wine advent calendar from Kroger. I am still drinking the small bottles of wine. This year he’s getting a tea calendar from World Market. I hope he’s not as picky with his teas.

I just bought my daughter-in-law a William Morris Bath and Body calendar, with Heathcote and Ivory products.

I was just at Costco and they had 12 Days of Cheeses :cheese: in the refrigerated section. I thought about it and then decided not to because I don’t want to store it in my frig for 6 weeks.

How much is the tea calendar at World Market? David’s Tea has some nice advent calendars.

The tea calendar was $14.99 at World Market. Reviews look good.

I think the tea calendar sounds like a great idea. I can think of a friend that would LOVE that. Did you order it online or get it in store?
