hey, I was accepted ed into Williams College, and I was wondering if any college students could offer advice for success; i've never been in a high-pressure "elite" atmosphere...just wondering what to do to get the most out of college

rl

Do:
- go to class and do your reading as much as possible
- start assignments more than 24 hours before the due date
- go to TA office hours--less intimidating than prof office hours, and usually more focused on reinforcing what was taught in class/helping with psets than on more advanced but "interesting" concepts outside of what was taught in class
- sleep. it's good for you!

Don't:
- focus so much on class that you don't get any chance to make friends, have fun, try out different activities... etc.
- try to write a 12 paper in 6 hours--it's painful and doesn't usually help your grade, either!
- be afraid to ask questions
- become a crazy alcoholic

Time management is KEY. You'll have a lot of free time, don't leave assignments til the last minute.

And have fun too, make friends. You don't have to drink if that's not your thing, there are other things that are fun too.

Have fun, relax, be confident, get laid.

Try different clubs and activities, even if you just go to something once and decide it's not for you. Great way to meet people. Don't sit in your room with your door locked studying all the time. Also, if you start dating someone, don't turn into one of those couples that is together 100% of the time and won't do anything without the other. That's a great way to lose any friends you've made.
