I was deferred SCEA but Yale is still my top choice by far. I'm wondering what kind of things deferred kids do/have done during the spring to move from a rejection/waitlist to an acceptance. This is probably way too general of a question, but do most kids have to do something exceptional and massive to gain acceptance, above and beyond their normal activities that they applied with SCEA? Or do most kids who are deferred then accepted just keep doing what they're doing in the spring?

bumpity bump

Make sure you write your admission counselor a letter of intent. Write out why you want to go to Yale, that Yale is still your first choice by far, and most importantly, that you’d go to yale for sure if they gave you the chance. Don’t sound too desperate but make sure you outline your reasons to applying to yale and that they know that you will 100% go there if they accept you. Then, if you have anything else that is significant, anything that you think will make your app look better, then send it in. But, don’t send really stupid stuff that aren’t important at all just so you can send something. Make sure that it is something significant.

Good luck!
