Advice for History graduate entering art school?

I already completed a BA in History but as of now I am an illustrator by profession, also featured in local publications and exhibits. I'm not entirely a mediocre artist but I want to get a formal education in Art or Illustration in the US to build up my credentials but due to financial constraints I don't want to complete a 4-year BFA program. I am from Asia. What's the best course of action for me?

I don't have any credt/units in art, will schools allow me to take a BFA for 2 years based on my portfolio and completed liberal arts credits?

Should I take an associate's degree instead? How good enough is this for me?

Should I take a post-baccalaurete degree? But I have no plans in pursuing graduate school. How much does a post-bac weigh without MFA compared to a BFA or Associate's degree?

I don't know a lot about US education so any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

try Art Center. min. you can do in 2.5 years.

I hear they are generous to (very) talented internationals. loads of Asians. kids are much older, mature, killer works. some get pulled out before graduating by headhunters.
good luck.

Wow it’s been a while since I checked here.

Thanks for the advice, bears and dogs. I will most likely check on Art Center. If only I didn’t have to send the originals of my portfolio. Our postal service here isn’t reliable and a lot of the works I’ve submitted on my previous portfolios have been sold/given away already. Slideroom would have been handy.

I am also considering 2-year Illustration associates degrees offered in Pratt and FIT NY. I’ve been looking for reviews/comments on Pratt’s Associates degrees for over 6 months and I can’t seem to find any substantial info on them. Are they worth it? I’ve compared the professors in Pratt’s Associates and BFA programs (of the same subjects) and the BFA profs seem better and more prolific. Their Associates gallery seem unimpressive too. :(

Anyone who can enlighten me on these 2 schools?
