Hi everyone, I just recently registered in this website because I was stressing over colleges even though I'm a ninth grader. I've always dreamed of going to Stanford, in fact the senior that toured me around high school will be going there. It inspires me, but I have another dream to strive for Valedictorian. I made a promise to one of my friends when we found out we were going to separate high schools that we'd both strive for it. I've been very cautious picking my schedule and using my time wisely. Joining clubs & getting something done during break or what not. Anyways, I have a few questions regarding my schedule for Sophomore year.

My schedule this year is as followed:

P.E Dance 0 period (Show Choir rehearsal)
P.E
English 9
Biology Accelerated
Show Choir
World Geography
Geometry Accelerated
(GPA: 3.8 - 1st semester, 2nd semester - 4.0 currently).

-- My school doesn't allow Freshmen to take AP / Honors courses, the only exception is to take AP Spanish Lit / Lang. I'm not worried about the Freshmen taking it. I believe there isn't actually, but if there are I believe they aren't getting those straight A's.

My next year schedule is pending. That is because I'm scared to get attached to show choir. I never had any singing experience or dancing experience, but I feel a vibe to stay. That is I don't enjoy doing it.. it's complex. Mostly because I have grown attached to the friends I have made in the group. I didn't register for it because if I had taken show choir next year, I would of been more than likely to continue it throughout high school. The downside is that it's a regular class including the rehearsal period, bringing down my GPA. This means I cannot get Valedictorian. The classes that I did sign up for are...

AP World History
AP Biology
Math Analysis Honors
Chemistry Honors
Physics Honors
English 10 (Reg)
P.E (Show Choir Rehearsal - Signed up as a Tech).

** I'm taking Algebra 2 over the summer to get ahead and take Pre-Calc Honors. I want to take advantage of the summer program offered at the local community college.

** I wanted to stay close to the show choir people + 10th graders are all required to take 2 years of P.E ! So, it works perfectly since I'll receive a P.E credit.

** My question is that will I survive taking 3 science courses? I know AP Biology; I'll be in good hands since the teacher is my Bio ACC teacher this year.

** I've been talking to the AP World History teacher(s) and they see my ambition, so they believe I will be fine considering the fact that there are students with a FULL AP / HNRS schedule. These students inspire me to push forward especially my senior tour guide.

** I didn't participate in any clubs this year, but next year I would like to join clubs that I am passionate about. Academic League & Decathlon, maybe even Mathletes. I can't wait, I just love academics.

** So, what do you think? Will I excel next year? I know colleges love well-rounded students and show choir can perfectly fit that standard. The competition record .. and all. But I wanted to do ASB Senior year. I can't wait. I'm just eager! Thanks! (:
