Hey all. I'm a 2nd year biology major and i've recently decided to drop pre-med and dump medicine. I just want to hear from other biology majors out there. What do guys want to specialize in?? And are there any risky specializations that might not be too successful in this day and age??
It took me ages to muster up the courage to drop medicine...but i'm still scared!! I have something related to wildlife and nature or microbiology in mind.. Does anyone have any advice??

I'm not a bio major, but there is not much you can do with just a bio undergrad degree, except work in a lab for little pay.

Seriously, you have to go to graduate school for biology. You might get a decent paying job with chemistry, but not biology.

I know..... i'm slowly realizing that... Don't worry about me:P i Fullt intend to got to grad school!! I don't intend to settle for the undergrad degree at all. But i am confused as to what do it in grad school!!

Why don't you major in a different subject, since it would be considered to a double major? Or you other option is since you don't want to go to med. school, you have law school, business school, pharmacy school, optometry school, dental school, and gruduate school for an Ph.D available to apply to. All you have do enroll in the requirement admission courses, take the admissions test, have extra. activies, and recommendations (since you thought of med. school, you should have half of this I think). Many graduate schools don't consider much value toward your major in admissions; thus, it's not like your doomed since you have taken a major you might not want now.
