Advice from Mechanical Engineer's needed

Ok, so like my name implies I am a ME junior. My grades are bad. I have 2 W's and 4 D's over my college career (in professional courses, so they required retaking) this has put me back a semester. I always retake the classes and get either A's or B+'s in them, however I'm terrified that no company will touch me with a ten foot pole when I graduate. Right now I think I will be able to graduate with a 2.8. I'm just curious about recent grads getting jobs with....not so desirable GPA's. Give it to me straight, is there any hope for my career after college?

There is. Most companies want to see a 3.0. Some companies want 3.5 or above. Many look for above 2.0. You are okay. Do the best you can to the end. All is not lost. You’ll just have to work hard to find a good placement. You might try starting with a paid internship or co-op. Tons of those available for engineering grads. Good luck!

You seem to be putting heavy emphasis on GPA, is it just reaching that 3.0? you didn’t touch on the the retaking of classes which was what I was really curious about. thanks
