Advice needed re: summer pre-college course in Biochemistry

I was wondering what you parents know about the class biochemistry. Is it a really hard class or is it manageable? I am a junior who is enrolled in the Stanford High School Summer College and was thinking about taking this 5-unit class called biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology. I would like to receive an A. I might take this class because I am interested in becoming a doctor. Would the Adcoms think that I am a better student if I took this class? Oh yeah by the way, I'm really good at biology, but just fairly mediocre at chemistry. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is this the course?

BIOSCI 41S
Biochemistry, Genetics, and Molecular Biology

Emphasis is on macromolecules (proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids) and how their structure relates to function and higher order assembly; molecular biology, genome structure and dynamics, gene expression from transcription to translation. (Walker)
Prerequisite: AP CHEM and AP BIOSCI.

Not a parent, but a soon-to-be second year medical student.

It's hard to say exactly how difficult this class will be. Just by looking at the description and the time commitment, it appears to me that this is a very introductory course. Considering that at practically every school, each of these courses are their own semester long class, it is hard to imagine this being being that in depth. Considering the prereqs though, it will be intense for a HS student.

Med school admissions won't care about you taking this course. They'll want to see what you actually did in the real college courses for these subjects.

Yes, NewHope33 you are totally correct about the course. Thanks for posting a reply and making a link.
