Well I'm in 10th grade and all I have ever wanted is acceptance into Harvard University. I'l list my current "stats" and ask for any advice or criticisms.

GPA Weighted : 4.7
GPA unweighted: 4.0 (? not really sure they don't tell us, I have all A+'s in as many honors as possible)
School: Roman Catholic/private
Rank: 2/220ish (they don't tell us, this is my assessment of my class)

EC's: Varsity Ice Hockey, Travel Ice Hockey, Varsity Lacrosse, over the summer I'l be attending NLCS at Harvard U for ten days

Also: I have some relatives whom attended other Ivy Leagues, which could lend a letter of recommendation. I also understand that Community service is quite important so I have been working for the Congressional Bronze achievement award (50 hours athletic improvement, 50 sociological, 100 hours community service)

Comment: my GPA would be higher but my school makes religion classes mandatory, which are unweighted. My class rank is definitely top two, would it be a problem I'm not 1st? (even though any other school in my area I probably would be....)

Any help is so greatly appreciated, this is my dream!

you might just want to look through this forum and find out that there is no way admission is guaranteed and that due to acceptance quotes of 7% (constantly going down for the last coupkle of years), it is just not possible to tell what you should do to get admitted... i can just quote the most famous sentece of admission officers being "be passionate about what you do an show your passion to them. make yourself stand out" they are looking for someone who would add a lot to the college atmosphere... what i've found interesting ( i will apply this fall for admission) was looking through the official 2012 admission results thread... there you can get a snapshot who you will be competing against and that even valedictorians with 2400 SAT and in my opinion strong EC's got turned away...

what i've heard (correct me if i'm wrong) getting a job is quite a good thing... first of al you've got more spare money ;p and it's supposed to show how mature you are, that you can take some responsibilty and manage to be good in school although you have other duties... and improving you're sport skills in order to get recruited would boost your admission chance as well in my opinion

It's a lot of people's dream. But only a handful of those people actually get to see their dream come true. Why is it so? Admissions is so random. How can you maximize your chances? By keeping this stellar academic record intact, getting great standardized test scores, and pursuing extracurricular activities which YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT.

"which YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT"

and not what you think admission officers would like to see^^

And why are you posting your questions here? I mean it says Harvard 2010!

Haha maybe it's because he graduates high school in 2010 and got a little confused
