Advice on Senior Schedule

At the moment, these are the classes that I’m taking next year: AP Calculus BC, High Honors Environmental Geoscience, AP Political Science, AP Psychology, and AP Literature. The reason that I’m not taking a language is because I’ve taken AP Latin this year and do not wish to take year 5 next year. But since I want to pursue politics and/or international relations in and after college, I think it would be good to take AP Econ. I also think it would be good to learn a language that I can actually speak. Should I add Year 1 Chinese to my schedule, or try and learn from a program over the summer? And should I replace psychology with econ? Econ would probably be more useful to me, but psychology seems more interesting. Thanks.

For psychology vs Econ, take whichever one you find more interesting, although I agree that econ, for you, would be more useful. So it’s really a question of taking it in HS vs college.

For Chinese, you’d need several years of study before you become anywhere close to proficient, so I assume you would plan to continue in college? If so, it’s unlikely that a Chinese 1 course in HS will give you enough background to place into Chinese II in college. You might be better served taking a CC Chinese class instead.
