Hi, I am international student who will be entering KU by Fall 2012. I am already planning to apply as a transfer for fall 2013 or 2014 and this is why I am already looking for informationa about it.

I have another thread at this section but with a different purpose, feel free to comment if you like: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1333036-when-did-you-start-thinking-apply-transfer-admission.html

Anyway, to be short, there is a big doubt that I have now.

I finished school in December 2010 (I live in Peru, and the school years ends in December). Then I enrolled a peruvian University for a year, had good grades, not the best, I calculated my GPA to be slightly above 3.7....

I will be entering KU as a freshman, I do not know if I can convalidate some courses I have taken in the peruvian university, but I have already sent my transcript to them.

Ok, so my concern is: should I mention this previous peruvian university I attended to in my transfer application to any school?
I do not know what to do about this, because my GPA is not the best, and maybe if I manage to get a 4.0 GPA at KU and get involved in many activities and leadership positions it would be better. I plan on applying for transfer to great schools like MIT and Harvard (for their need blind policy) and many others. But also do not know if it would be safe to simply ersae this peruvian university from my academic record.

Also, if I am able to convalidate some courses like Calculus, that would be showed in my transcript form KU right? So the other universities will deduce I attended university somewhere else I think. Therefore I would be obligated to send the transcripts from this peruvian university, which would be very difficult to obtain if I am in the US.

Thank you in advance.
