Advice please!!

Ok guys...basically i would appreciate some advice.

I want to work in international business, followed by international diplomacy/politics. I am from the UK and nearly 25 years old.

I have strong academic credentials - perfect straight As through high school, GPA equivalent of 3.6 at University College London for undergrad.( mark could have been a lot better, horrible external situation for which i have medical proof).

Work experience - very international, range of things from marketing at Rolex in Argentina to marketing in a small property company in same place (Buenos Aires), to teaching and running an NGO in Ghana and Peru. before going abroad I got onto a very competitive summer internship with IMG sports agency.

Also have worked for a shadow secretary of state politician in London and currently working a summer internship for an internet company in austria in the finance division, providing analysis for potential M&A activity.

I speak fluent spanish (certified as bilingual by spanish government after passing their tests)

I guess the best part of my application is the work experience - for instance at IMG i helped supervise 150 student staff and when i was running the NGO in Peru i held sole responsibility for 70 people/children.

However, all of these roles have been placements (all be it well paid) and nothing for longer than one year...

However, this was never due to leaving "early", it was always agreed. And i have great references from all..

I have been admitted into top ranking, bloody hard to get into, International Relations program at London School of Economics, to start this September. i want to do this to aid my progression into politics/diplomacy at a later age....

Now, I had planned to go straight into a job after this masters and apply for an mba in 3 or 4 years but i am starting to wonder whether i could get into an MBA now, to start directly after my ir masters...and massively aid my career progression....

Is it worth a shot without LONG LONG term experience even if what i have is very international, some big name companies/universities and lots of responsibility/achievements?

Would i be competitive at Harvard/Stanford?

i know i have to take gmat but would study hard for 3 months and am confident would pull a strong figure.

Please advise..

Cheers

ps apologies for any spelling mistakes, very busy and just had to dash this off rapid

That sounds competitive to me, although that’s different than having a high probability of acceptance but you should certainly be in the running.

Worth a try.

i wouldn’t discount your chances given that you have a gmat 710+

but if i were you, i’d also consider applying to kellogg and wharton for good measure. nothing you can’t get from h/s that you couldn’t get from the next two best programs.
