So I was just accepted to LIU Summer Honors Institute (7/9-7/14 for World of Robotics) and SCAD Rising Star (6/18-7/21 and I’ll likely take Intro to Business and Computer Aided Product Design).
My intended major is Mechanical engineering and I am a junior. What program seems to be better? I know that SCAD will get me 10 college credits in interesting courses that are not directly related to my major but LIU’s program will be more geared towards engineering.
Cost isn’t an issue - I have a full scholarship to either location. So… what advice do you guys have? How selective are these programs? Anybody going to either of them?
SCAD seems like the better option, because you can get credit which is always useful to have even if it doesn’t directly relate to your intended major. SCAD is also much more worth it, as obtaining a full scholarship from them is very difficult and you wouldn’t want to pass up the chance for free college credit.
LIU Summer Honors have rolling admissions which means students aren’t scrambling to get accepted.
I know this is a month late but if you still have the option of consideration definitely go for SCAD.
