Advice - Transferring to Elon University (2nd semester Sophomore year)

I am looking to transfer to Elon University the second semester of my sophomore year.

However, due to Elon's student-body size, is it difficult for transfer students to make new friends and fit in socially at Elon University?

In addition to this, do transfer students feel out of place at Elon?

Your help is greatly appreciated, and I hope to hear back soon!

Thank you!

:) - You will do fine. Most Elon students are involved in lots of activities beyond just attending class, so just choose something you would like to do and get involved.

Elon is very welcoming to transfer students and I bet it will be the time of your life.

I second ncmentor’s comment and will add that Elon also has a Spring Organization Fair and orientation program to get students acquainted with campus and involved in activities right from the get-go.

It’s a very involved culture and Elon students are very engaged in their extracurricular activities, so if you get involved in a couple things as well, you’ll have friends in no time.

Thank you so much for your insight!

Would it be too late to join a sorority at Elon University, as a 2nd semester sophomore?

If not, is it common for students to join a sorority late in their undergraduate years?

Would it be too late to join a sorority at Elon University, as a 2nd semester sophomore?

No - But why don’t you contact the membership director (an elected student) for each of the sororities you might be interested in. I bet they would be happy to get to know a new student. — But you might want to take everything one step a time and get to know students that you like and find out if they belong to a specific sorority .
