AF veteran with 80 CA community college credits

So I’m looking to get out of the Air Force in 2021 and I was looking to going back to school in California. I’m basically wondering what my odds are of getting in to top tier schools like UCB, UCD, CalPoly SLO, and UCLA. I’m also okay with going to a CSU or any decent engineering/computer school.

So about me: I was never really good at school growing up and my high school GPA was a flat 3.0. I attended community college in California and completed about 80 credit hours of pre engineering classes (calc, physics, chem, and other prerequisite classes) but my gpa again was really bad ~2.7 anyway I attended SJSU for a year after community college studying electrical engineering before life circumstances hit and a couple years passed and I ended up joining the Air Force. I’m currently a network technician for the Air Force and have a few accolades in here, but nothing I would deem that important. I was however able to acquire sec+ and a ccna (will have my CCNP by the end of the year).

Basically I’m looking at what are some of the best ways for me to become competitive at a top CA school. I know my GPA is really bad, but honestly that was at a time when I lacked the drive to even want to go to a school like those. If need be I wouldn’t mind retaking classes if that’s something that would help my odds. I’m really motivated to get in to a top school, but I’m also okay with just going to SF state. Also if you guys think Grad school would be a better route if I finish a bachelors while I’m in the Air Force at one of the random universities on base (Ramstein Afb, Germany). Thanks in advance.

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major suggests that a 2.7 college GPA would mean transfer admission to a UC for CS would be a reach. UC Merced’s 25th-75th percentile GPA range for CS admits was 2.96-3.61 for 2017 transfer admits.

https://www2.calstate.edu/attend/degrees-certificates-credentials/Pages/impacted-degrees.aspx says that SFSU is not impacted for upper division transfer students, and CS is not impacted there. This means that you should be admitted if you complete all of the lower level course requirements (see http://www.assist.org for both general education and major prep course work) and have a college GPA of at least 2.0 as a California resident: http://www.calstate.edu/transfer/requirements/

Thanks for the response. So is there anything I could in the next 3 years to help my chances to getting in to a UC?
