<p>Gahhhh I hate you! Affirmative action needs to die. You took away the spot of some other more qualified person, such as my friend-
stats- 2340, 800, 800, 800, 35 ACT, top 1% class rank, makes 10K, USAMO qualifier, AIME qualifier, AMC 12 school winner, JETS TEAM 8th in the nation, 1st place regionally in like 5 other competitions,
president of math club (3 years), robotics club (3 years), engineering club, NHS, captain of xc, track, swimming, water polo, soccer (all varsity, league finalist),
DID SPEECH AND DEBATE, WAS A CAPTAIN, QUAL'ED FOR STATE
went to 5 summer science/math programs, took 4 college math courses, did research internship, all A's, was a QB finalist, REJECTED FROM YALE. there. you took that guys spot. the guy who will prob be a millionaire. the guy who DESERVED TO GO TO YALE. who was actually QUALIFIED.
so it goes.
A-"omg hes asian and he wrote about math in his essay. *throws in trash compacter"
B-"omg heres a black guy strong in engineering and research."
A-"engineering? who cares, hes black. accepted"</p>
<p>^^^^^^^^^^^^ignorance...</p>
<p>I think an ounce of humility should be shown. You are qualified and intelligent, Dbate, but so are countless other applicants. I'm not saying you didn't deserve to get in but it's possible that AA played some factor to distinguish you from the other nameless, but qualified, applicants.</p>
<p>That being said, I was hoping you would get accepted in the Yale forum. Congrats!</p>
<p>Dbate get out of this thread while you can...some bitter rejects will insult you beyond belief....I am proud of you though (myself being a rejectee)</p>
<p>It's probably best for this thread to take a break. There is a thread on a different forum that is for civil discussion of ethnically based affirmative action in college admission. </p>
