After Admissions

What is the policy for students who already got admitted concerning the final transcript?

Is there a certain grade we can't go lower?

What about disciplinary situations such as getting detention?

You must submit final transcript by July. UIUC reserves the right to withdraw your admission based on that transcript. They say they expect you to have maintained the some excellent grades that got you admitted in the first place. They don’t give any particular level of decrease that will result in withdrawal of admission. It is evaluated on an individual student basis. You should likely assume that a D will not be good and if it is a D in a required course for admission, such as the fourth year of English, you are highly likely to get a withdrawal letter. One C probably won’t hurt you but multiple Cs probably will.

Disciplinary actions can also lead to withdrawal. Again it is evaluated on an individual basis. If there is one of any importance (e.g., simply getting a detention for something like being late to a class is not going to mean anything), you would be wise to inform earlier rather than wait until July, and inform them of any explanation and what you are doing to overcome the problem. If it involves cheating, plagarism, or other dishonesty you will have a very serious issue.

how about getting a detention for having a phone out during class?

One detention doesn’t mean much but if you start racking them up then the school would have motive to be cautious.

Basically, don’t do anything stupid and you’ll be fine.

as long as you dont get arrested or get expelled you’re probably not going to get your admission revoked
