After being admitted, how do transfer students spend their summer?
Can you take summer courses at your CC?
Or can you start your UC courses during summer?

Personally, I did nothing productive. No regrets lol
But some students take courses at the UC to which they’re admitted during summer. That’s pretty popular.
I did a summer program at Berkeley. Find something to do … work/major-related or fun.
Be sure to get any courses approved that you might take over summer at CC. What you do at CC optionally during the summer could possibly impact your admissions.
Many students work a summer job to help pay for school.
Work, take classes, research fellowships, internships… It’s honestly the same thing for anyone in the summer, transfer student or not. I always recommend whatever is either a) most economical for you or b) most resume building. Your summers are precious.
@cayton That’s the best idea! But I want to spend summer doing something
@briank82 I have to get it approved? I see… Hope that taking a chemistry course won’t hurt.
@PrimeMeridian Cool name! Yeah, my friend is doing exactly that to help himself.
@Burdened Yeah, trying to plan some courses for next year… that includes next summer.
@laccstudent HAVE to get it approved? Maybe not, but you’ll want to err on the side of caution. Definitely check to make sure it won’t cause any issues.
And you’ll want to remember that if you don’t get a grade consistent with what they prescribe in your conditional admittance, you’ll likely be rescinded.
@briank82 Thanks for the caveat. It looks like I’ll have to be careful what I take on summer next year…
