I would greatly appreciate any advice/answers to the following:

1) Does McGill give/sell agendas or should I buy one myself?

2) Do grad schools look down on you if you take bird courses?

3) What are the printing services at McGill (prices)?

4) Do grad schools like consistency? Ex. Take Latin in U0, continue to do so/take similar courses until final year

1) Not that I’m aware of. I think there are agenda in the bookstore that have a McGill logo on it? :p

2) Perhaps. I’ve heard of some committees simply looking at a CGPA number then moving on to other parts of your application. But if anyone takes a closer look at your McGill transcript, they will see the class averages for every course you’ve taken alongside your mark. And I doubt an Econ department would be very much impressed to see you’ve taken “Art of Listening.”

3) UPrint is, imo, fantastic! All you do is install a driver, and then you can print to any of the UPrint printers on campus (and there are quite a few.) It’s $0.06/page for B&W.

4) This I honestly am not sure about. I can imagine that if they’re not courses that are particularly relevant to the field you’re applying, grad schools won’t really care.

Just to add, in years past SSMU provided an agenda for free during the beginning of the year and some faculties also provided their own agendas also in their Frosh kits (i.e Management)

Also as someone who works at IT in McGill, UPrint is fantastic free scan to email and 6 cents copies (before QST).
