Okay...I'm really hoping that I'm wrong here and that I just caught the Financial Aid office and Admission office at a bad time. But after spending 2 days trying to get a straight answer (I kept getting put on hold and then a promise for a call back), I finally spoke with someone who was not very pleasant...sounding pretty much annoyed with my questions.

I understand that they are probably getting hundreds of calls right now but it did not leave this parent with a warm, comfy feeling that they will take care of my daughter's one hundred freshman questions when she's there!

Every other schools have been courteous and inviting. We are sending our D to Villanova because it's her top choice but I will definitely be more sensitive to this on Candidates Day.

...I really hope I'm wrong here!!

I am not quite sure why Villanova has a problem with parents calling. Maybe they get so many call from parents making demands that they lost their sense of courtesy. It could also be only the Admissions and Financial Aid Office. My D is a freshman and all the other departments have been so kind and helpful. I had questions about the many meal plans and the dining hall people were great. My D was placed in a forced triple and the Residence Life advisors were extemely informative and sympathetic to our concerns. Even the "Wildcard" department could not be more friendly. I think the Admissions Office gets "beat up" with phone calls about the rejections and the waitlist.
newdawn6-- It is definitely not a reflection of how they will take care of your daughter. When you drop your daughter off in August, I guarantee you will leave with warm fuzzy feeling.

Thanks Momsworried....I guess you can call me Momsworried2!!!

My husband says I worry too much and reminded me of how we did get the warm, fuzzy feeling when we visited the school...so it must be just a crazy time at those offices.

Okay...I'll just focus on the positives, especially seeing my D excited about the school :)

Hopefully you'll get many more positives next year when she attends. I know the positives are still rolling in at our house. I know my D will be sad to leave Villanova at the end of this semester.
