How generous is the MT dept/ U of M with financial aid?

My family is doing all of my financial aid stuff through Edifi, and we’ve been told that they are VERY generous!

The financial aid office is generous if you have a demonstrated need. But the MT dept only gives out a handful of scholarships each year - I would not call them VERY generous, as posted above. Those scholarships are rewarded based primarily on your audition - and bolstered by your application to the MT department, your academic credentials, etc.

I don’t know how the MT departments works for financial aid… My knowledge was based off of the University as a whole.

Yes - you’re right about that - the U of M Financial Aid office is pretty generous.

Hooray!
That’s good news! :)

Michigan gives like no money at all. I couldn’t go because though I demonstrated extreme merit and need, they only offered $5000. I was a national merit semi-finalist with 33 ACT score and a cumulative GPA of over 4.31 accounting for AP classes. My mother is unemployed as is my dad for the past year, though he does odd jobs around the neighborhood, fixing gutters and raking leaves. I had to start working to help the family at 14 years old, working in a pet shop everyday after school. Im at Macomb community college now, the only school that offered me any scholarships or financial aid.
