Air Force added a high-profile opponent for its 2012 football schedule, getting a road game at Michigan.

The Falcons will play at Michigan Stadium – famously known as the “Big House” – on Sept. 8. It is a one-game contract. Air Force played at Michigan Stadium in 1964 and lost 24-7.

“This will be a great opportunity for our players and staff to compete against one of the most storied programs in all of college football in one of the great venues in the game,” Air Force athletic director Hans Mueh said in a statement.

The Falcons usually schedule one high-profile opponent on the road each season. In 2010 Air Force played at Oklahoma, in 2011 it will play at Notre Dame, and next year at Michigan. Air Force will also play Army at Yankee Stadium in New York in 2012.
