I am not sure if anybody has a solution to this, but

i am sick of typing my calnet id everytime i connect with a wireless connection on my laptop.

Is there anyway that i could just be logged on without having to press it everytime or the
calnet authentication or w/e?

sometimes I click on the login button when I’m on my laptop, and I’m all signed in…hehe, I don’t know why, though. why do the login pages vary?

Actually, you don’t want to do that. If you laptop ever gets stolen, your CalNet ID would go with it (and the thief could be a jack ass and go on TeleBEARS and **** with everything)

They are in the process of upgrading to a new AirBears page. I think Haas was the first to have it, but seems like the libraries have it now too. But it lets you sign in per session (seems like once a day), so this is a lot better than before.

It’s a security feature. Get used to it.

It’s very possible to code up a script or browser plugin that automatically logs in for you, but there are a few things to consider:

Since your CalNet ID is used for login, do you really want it stored on your computer? It is easy to pilfer that information unless your login is protected by yet another password.

What if someone clones your laptop’s MAC address and poses as you to participate in illegal activities?

Even if the login system is removed, are you sure you’d want to deal with people freeloading off the wireless? The system will become slow and unreliable.

You wouldn’t leave your bike without locking it. You wouldn’t park a car with your windows wide open. You wouldn’t let your laptop out-of-sight in a high-crime high-traffic area. Why not apply the same principle to AirBears?

What excelblue said ^

Anyone manage to connect a Nokia E or N series phones to Airbears?

hey 33hours,
you can use KeePass. works like a charm.

Berkeley has one of the fastest internets in the country or something. Yet Airbears still sucks balls.

i know. i was in disbelief when i saw those stats.

On my phone browser, it saves the login information, so I just have to click login.

Your browser should be able to save the password. I use Opera so every time I want to log in to my Berkeley account I just quickly press CTRL + Enter and it logs me in. Firefox Chrome and most browsers should save the password so it quickly logs in.
