aite, no more speculation, the facts

anyone else??

Why do you want to leave Cornell? I want to go there.

um...its a bunch of reasons, its location is a MINUS, but there is a community feel b/c it really is in the middle of no where. Some ppl like it, some don't. I want to be closer to a city. In addition, IT GETS COLD. I am not even kidding, if weather is important, don't go to Cornell. Academics are great, but extremely demanding and rigorous especially in the sciences. I am now into econ and poli sci and i wouldn't mind a stronger econ and poli sci school such as Columbia.

anyone else......plz...plz

SLIPPER, please evaluate.....

The city isn't all it's cut out to be. Trust me, I live and study here in NYC. You're better off staying in ithaca.

How horribly small is Ithaca? Is it just woods and a scool? Man it was like one of my top 5 choices :/

no, ithaca is actually a town. And since there's 3 colleges in the area, the town caters to us pretty much. There's a mall, target, wal-mart, a grocery store meca, ithaca commons has dozens and dozens of small unique shops, there's the farmer's market by the lake, and ithaca is loaded with restaurants which have all been fantastic so far. Finding something to do when not hitting the books has never been an issue. Though the town of ithaca is small itself (40,000 people), college students add another 30,000 so it's by no means isolated from society. If you need city, syracuse is a short drive north.

bball - glad you've grown up, or at least thought of a better reason why you want to transfer. It wasn't the greatest idea to post on the Cornell forum that you wanted a school with a higher average sat scores and was "thinking of transfering because of this very reason."
